Basically I’m trying to make some contacts with our CB Beetle enthusiasts.

My son and I are doing a cheap restore on a 1970 Baja. It’s got the suspension and body mods essentially making it a Baja.

Only thing that sucks is it’s red. Luckily it’s kinda orangeish, brick red, not obnoxious yewt red. I can live with it.

Man these motors are weird. I am a classic Chevy and Mopar guy. Even changing the oil is a learning experience.

So with an old car like this, I’m not sure how safe it is to drive. It seems to ride ok, but I’m wondering if I should pay a mechanic to just look it over for safety issues.

Any suggestions there?

The other thing was if anyone has ideas about easy power boosting mods. Obviously this is a weak 1600CC 1970 Bug so anything could help.
