Game assessment from an arm chair coach w some basketball IQ
Demin: Everything he was talked about. Great feel for the game, great court awareness, and always looking for the assist if possible. Some truly pinpoint passes for easy baskets.
Hall: Better than last year. Struggled a little with Demin guarding him because Demin is so long, but Hall is a floor leader, strong on assists, capable shooter with ball in his hands, and when he beats he man and drives he is also always looking for the assist.
Keita: Wow, he can soar, and multiple baskets were either from PNR slams, or alley oop slams. The guy is freakish athletic, dominant on the boards, and so powerful on the PNR, a finisher.
Fouss: Anybody down on Fouss is wrong. He was leading on boards and is always a force to be reckoned with down low. He just gets his points and has a soft touch shot down low from Hall assists. With Fouss and Keita in at the same time this team will be tough on the boards.
Catchings: Got in early foul trouble but then not an issue. Smooth stroke, great feel for the game, and strong drive to the basket. He has a better feel from my opinion than Knell.
Saunders: Motor is always running and a force to be reckoned with also on the boards. Just a fire in him and the kind of competitor you always like to have on your team. Tough defender too by just staying in front of his guy.
Crawford: Held on to the ball dribbling around too much at times. Still young, but also a feisty defender. Right up in Hall’s face on defense and caused some challenges there, but also got stuck down low a couple of times with ball in his hands too long.
Mag: Seemed to shoot pretty well, great defensive minded player, and tough all around. Still scored well and took the ball to the hole a few times really well if I remember right.
Stewart: Great defensive effort tonight coupled with an offensive output. Didn’t see the ball in his hands too much bringing it up court, but not a real drop off when one of the starting guards goes out because Stewart defends well. Offensive trade off.
Baker: looked okay tonight, but only 1-3 on Fats after being fouled on a 3 in the first part of the game. Didn’t really seem to play a really solid game and so I kept finding myself waiting for his offensive explosion.

Team overall: Starting out was rough a couple of times and had a couple of turnover hiccups a couple of series, but man there are some great outside shooters on this team. Boskovic has a nice outside stroke for a big man, and is also strong taking it to the hoop. Nice to see the big men shoot comfortably at the FT line.

Starters for me would be Demin, Hall, Saunders, Fouss, and Keita, or possibly Catchings over Saunders without any drop off, but either would be a great sixth man. This team easily has nine deep including Boskovic, Crawford, Mag, Knell, and Baker. I may even be missing one or two that should also be obvious.
