A phantom foul call on Knell trying to close out on a wide open 3pt shot by Love with 2:15 to go in the game was completely glossed over by the TV announcers despite replays showing that there was no contact at all by Knell. Love missed the 3pt shot and BYU rebounded which would’ve given BYU the ball with an 87-83 lead. 15 seconds later Mawot Mag hit a corner 3 that would’ve put BYU up 90-83 with under 2 minutes to go. Instead, refs bailed AZ out again and kept them in the game, Love hit all 3 FT’s to bring AZ within 1.
