Was the early 17th Century the apogee of the English Language? The King James
Bible was translated between 1604 and 1611, a timespan in which Shakespeare wrote All’s Well That Ends Well, Antony and Cleopatra, Coriolanus, Hamlet, King Lear, Macbeth, Measure for Measure, Othello, Timon of Athens, Troilus and Cressida, Twelfth Night, Cymbeline, Pericles, and The Winter’s Tale. Our COJCOLDS culture is particularly exposed to this Era of early modern English since it seems to me that's the English that Joseph Smith knew and used in his Book of Mormon translation.
