and had a special season in a power conference, finishing near or at the top, how would you attribute that overperformance versus recruiting rankings? Some schools seem to consistently underperform their recruiting rankings and some tend to overperform. But being at the top would be a massive overperformance given our recruiting rankings in recent years versus the recruiting rankings of our competition in the Big XII. To what do we attributed the overperformance - again assuming we don't regress to the mean over the next 7 games?
Meaning what percentage would you say is:
- Coaches developing players (training speed, strength, game knowledge better than competition)
- Character of our players leading to impressive player-driven player development (in excess of other programs)
- Great coaching (game prep and play calling better than the competition)
- Somehow incrementally better than others for team chemistry
- Fortunate to not have major injuries and our top guys being on par with other top players to begin with
- Something else?
