If we recall 2022, it nearly killed Kalani to part ways with Tuiaki. And, Kalani didn't even pull the trigger back then, it took Tuiaki resigning for change to happen.

Kalani himself has talked about how hard of a decision that was, but that bringing in Jay has revitalized the defense and our ability to play hard nosed football. It's interesting to see shadows of the same issues just a few years later-- Kalani is loyal and fights for his guys, but finds it hard to hold his longtime associates accountable for obvious issues.

I love loyalty, but we also need accountability. There are some play calls in the second half of that Baylor game that were truly head scratching--- Runs on 3rd and long when we needed to extend drives, passes (and interceptions) and 3rd and short when we needed to run out play clock... That last play, to me, is as unforgivable as his RPO play call on goal to go against Oklahama that went 99 yards to the house.

A-Rod needs to step up his play calling.
