In a way they have a point. I mean, look at Utah’s success against FBS competition without Cam Rising:

Since Cam joined the team in 2020:
13-11 when Rising doesn’t play significant minutes

Since Utah became P5:
65-45 or .591 winning%, or an average of 7-5 in a 12 game season

P5 seasons without Cam Rising = 12
Conference championships without Cam Rising = 0

P5 bowl record without Cam Rising:
5-4

So it is entirely understandable that Utah would lose without Cam Rising, it is not far under a 50-50 proposition that they would. Utah is historically a pretty meh team without him. It’s not Ute fans fault that Utah is so consistently and egregiously overrated.
