As much anxiety and disgust we all felt at times, you gotta be impressed at how deep we were able to go without losing (especially compared to last year). That was the one silver lining to last season and I think it's the real story of this year's success. Rather than hitting the portal big, the team decided to lean into experience, development. (Were some of our bad losses worse because the coaches chose to rest people and put in young reserves?). That might be the real story of this team's success so far.
Went into this game knowing that LJ and Moa were out - probably the best and second best backs on the team. Evan Johnson - a former backup who started in Bamba's place - didn't play today.
Pay and Eichorn went out, didn't come back. Taggart went down, out. Lapuaho sat down for a while, came back. Epps and Hill didn't play much at the end.
I think there were more injuries I missed because I saw a lot of 3rd and 4th string players out there, especially on defense. I think we can win 8 this year, which is great for our 2nd year. I'm excited for next year, though, because of our talented young players.
