With all the talk lately about BYU's night vs day performance, I was curious how teams prepare for away games in different time zones, and I came across this paper:

There was an interesting takeaway that is relevant to BYU: Western teams performed significantly better when playing Eastern teams at night vs during the day, both on the road and at home.
It's a bit different with BYU than the west coast teams in the article, because BYU plays teams from time zones both west and east of them. And the Broncos were excluded from the study as the only team in the mountain time zone, since they also have an altitude advantage. Still, I thought it was interesting data to look at. Let's hope the staff has the day game prep schedule figured out and break the cycle tomorrow. Let's go cougs!
