K State Fans in awe of BYU experience. Well Done BYU
It almost seems like these guys got as much out of a loss to BYU than they would have a win. Incredible job by BYU and its fans to represent the way they did this past week.

These messages came from the Youtube video put out by Tim Fitzgerald who raved about the kindness of BYU

I was at the game as well with friends. Great example about opposite sides coming together with grace. I really needed this encouragement in a very hostile time in America. Thank you BYU for your kindness, grace ... and friendship!

Fitz- this needs talked about.
Avery Johnson pledged money for every touchdown he scored he would give money towards his HS principles cancer fund as he was recently diagnosed with cancer. My sons both attend Maize High, same as Avery.
Well as you know, BYU defense kept Avery out of the endzone. However, his $20k goal was already met! Why? BYU fans heard about his pledge and made donations to his cause after he didn't manage to score a touchdown.
This is incredible! Thank you BYU family!

I absolutely agree with you. The ENTIRE BYU program and fans are first class. Living in Ohio, we have always enjoyed watching them play at home when they are on tv, as they set a GREAT EXAMPLE for other fans to follow. However, I still wish KSTATE would have won.. But, a sincere CONGRATS to BYU.

Totally agree Fitz! The game left a whole lot to be desired, but the overall experience and they way we were treated was absolutely first class. Thanks BYU fans!
It is even easy to get in and out of the stadium. We stayed near the airport in SLC since we had an early flight and it was unbelievable how easy it was to get back on the Interstate and back to SLC.
Definitely the best road game experience I have ever had. Final score excluded.

Something else that’s been heart warming is how BYU fans stood up and have supported the fundraiser put on by the K St. QB for his former principal with cancer.

Great to hear! Restores some faith in humanity! This sounds more legit than 80’s Nebraska fans being “classy” after beating our butts 70-3…..

Interesting commentary. The night of that awful loss, checking in on the youtube post-mortems, I noticed the comments in the blogs by BYU fans were remarkably positive and generous to the losing team. BTW, I shouldn't have been so surprised, because all of the LDS folks I've ever known have been exceptionally kind people. (Wish we'd been smart enough to elect one president when we had the chance to.)

Utah Utes fan here. My dad is a hard core BYU fan, so I have been to more BYU games than Utah games. (Although, we have been to several Utah games together also.) I have to respect this dude taking the time to post this. Utah Utes fans can be a lot more aggressive and even violent at times. BYU fans have always been great, and I love when the rivalry is respected by both fan bases. The way they are both teams are good and winning now will make the rivalry fun, win or lose.

@WildcatWestern
BYU fans are kinda studs ngl

Here is a great write up about the Avery Johnson Donation event. Don't know who put this on CB but you essentially raised this guy about 30K in doing so. Great Job!
