a decent TV deal? Being from the PNW, I'm probably a bit biased, but I would have to think WSU and ORST are far and away the most valuable, and considerable dropoff to Boise/SDSU/AFA, and then a complete cliff jump to the rest.
Presumably, the reason for going about it this way instead of just merging with the MWC and keeping the P12 naming rights, assigning relevant contracts, etc is to jettison the bottom half of the conference that drag down media value.
What sort of per-school revenues do we thing the new Pac-8/10/12 would command, compared to the MWC + WSU & ORST?
Maybe $9-10M per school instead of the $6-7ish the MWC currently gets? Isn't that optimistic, given that they're now about to renegotiate media rights in a decidedly cooler economic environment than existed back in 2022 when they were trying to do so the last time? Isn't there a real chance they end up in the same spot anyway?
There has to be some significant factor in the Pac-12 as an entity continuing. Some kind of contractual tie-ins that cement their status as a "power" conference for the time being for CFB access?
