“What we were expecting” -Kalani
I heard some podcasters scoff at this postgame comment from the coach, but they need to understand the context.

Most of us here know he was talking about the combination of two things: the middle minutes of the game (which he and his staff focus on), and the defining goal of Jay Hill’s defense: havoc leading to turnovers.

The coaches have been popping for it to be a bit more evident than in the past few games, but it came together like a lightning strike against KSU.

Confuse the offense and force turnovers late in the first half and early in the second. This is the recipe they’ve been cooking up and when he says they expected it, he simply means they predicted their months of preparation should lead to something like this.

Here’s what none of us fans knew until now (and maybe still aren’t willing to believe yet):

It could happen again!

Obviously not identically, but just imagine some scenario that makes us forget this game in favor of even more amazing outcomes.

That is what Kalani envisions.

Can’t wait for another game to see if the pattern is still there! Condolences to Baylor fans in advance if it is. 😉
