First full practice starts tomorrow for the KYU era of BYU MBB.
The team moves to 20 hours a week of practice from 8 hours a week.
I’ve been told by people close to the program that the intensity in practice is WAY higher vs last year. Everyone is trying to prove themselves to KY, there are no favorites or “front runners” whereas Pope had “his guys.”
KY’s mantra to the players is “the best players will play” and everyone is looking around going, “there are a lot of good players on this team… I better show KY that I deserve minutes!”
The “battle” between Fouss and Keba in practice is, unsurprisingly, fierce - they are apparently going at it, really pushing each other (in a good way).
I’m hearing really good things about Bosko - he can move well for a 6’10 guy, he can shoot - but I’m not sure what his status is with regards to actually playing this season. International player “onboarding” is complicated. I noticed he was not assigned a number and he’s not on the byu mbb roster on the home page just yet. Hopefully he’s able to make the season but he is practicing with the team.
So excited for this next chapter to begin!
