I'm happy to say that worked out really well yesterday.
The first Q when the highly touted KSU world class QB Avery Johnson, who the announcers could not rave enough about, drove KSU right down the field without much resistance made the outcome look in doubt. But the BYU defense held and limited them to field goals so things looked pretty bright.
Then came the series of great BYU plays and put the game away. What a shock to highly ranked KSU and their fans. Especially the miracle punt return that was almost a disaster then the dynamic force named Parker Kingston turned it into a play that goes down in BYU history as one of the greats. Is that kid a great football player or what. And he is faster than he looks too. Parker obviously gave it everything he had, so worn out after dropping the ball barely over the goal line that he had to go to the bench and puke. Don't we all know the feeling.
This is a game we enjoyed watching as BYU players performed incredibly well. Three takeaways, two of them for scores I believe it was. Obviously BYU was better than anyone expected since we were not favored to win this game at all. Some great individual efforts to score a totally unexpected 38 points while holding the mighty force from the plains of Kansas State to only 9 points.
Dare we mention that Retzlaff had a great game? That will burn the CB doubters won't it? Well he has had a lot of turnovers at times so there is that big question mark. But he was good against the purple people eaters.
BYU football opened some eyes yesterday and blistered a few CB naysayers in the process. How sweet it is!
