1. I thought BYU was pretty lucky to keep SMU out of the end zone, limiting them to 5 FGs and 15 points. But that trend continued tonight with BYU limiting KSU to just 3 FGs and 9 points. 8 FGs and no TDs in 2 games against P4 teams is way more than luck. It’s a very positive trend about the BYU defense.
2. No penalties until the very end—one intentional delay of game and one roughing the passer by a reserve in the waning moments of the game.
3. +3 on turnovers. Huge factor in the game.
4. Some nice runs by Moa. Great to see with the injuries to other RBs.
5. About the only way BYU didn’t score was a safety. No Pick 6 either but the INT deep in KSU territory set up a BYU TD.
6.Everything seemed to go BYU’s way tonight. A bit reminiscent of blowout over UCLA years ago. It won’t always be this way. I suspect KSU will bounce back with a vengeance against their next opponent.
7. It’s likely BYU enters the rankings and gets lots of positive pub this week. Hopefully, players won’t let it go to their heads. They need to continue to play with chips on their shoulders, and focus on one game at a time, and not worry about rankings or publicity.
8. Great night to be a BYU fan! Go Cougars!
