OK St Garret Rangel hasn't started a game as QB since 2022 so it explains at least some of the reason why the BYU coaches and by extension why the players were unprepared for him in the 1st half?
It was a very, very lucky thing for BYU that he got injured at the end of the 1st half. His feet were much more of a threat than Bowman's and it also seemed like just he was overall playing way better than Bowman did.
It was nice to see a substantial run game outside of how it has been. So, so, so nice to see LJ Martin running the ball. Felt like we have a solid run game again. I realize that Retzlaff has been rushing all season but that's definitely not preferable. See Garret Rangel Injury.
Also for all the criticism that BYU D got against stopping the run they came up with some big TOs as they usually do.
