I did a lot of stats and research work in college at BYU. Let’s break this down-

First off, the stat is since Jake began as a starter and only among active FBS QBs. So for this to be a fair comparison, we are talking about quarterbacks who played the last 4 games of last year and then started again this year 3 games. I haven’t done that research personally because I don’t care that much but my guess is we are looking at maybe 25-30 quarterbacks? Probably almost all of these are now 2 year starters.

Additionally, it’s almost certain Jake is the only one having to count his first four FBS games.

So let’s through out last season- can’t find a fair way to determine that and let’s just look at this season.

He is about average in interceptions (the average is like 2.3 or so)

Passing Yards- 19th
Passing Touchdowns- 18th
Avg yard per pass- 26th
QB rating- 50th
Rushing Yards- 28th

Then look at PFF rankings for most impressive complete passes- he’s #1 in the country

I honestly think he is pretty darn good and we are doing no good being over dramatic and cherry picking made up biased stats to make us hate the guy. We aren’t the Jets fan base- we are better than that.
