Hiring Euroleague players away from their previous employer (e.g., Demin, Bosko) is pretty cool as long as the transfers come our direction. I wonder how long it will be before a player goes the other direction?
It happens all the time in minor league baseball; players routinely move up or down within the same organization or get hired away. A player could get moved to the Toledo Mudhens this morning and be in the game tonight. Former BYU basketball players are constantly bouncing between different international leagues and G-league teams within a single season.
College teams are now not much different from the patchwork of pro leagues around the world--except that you have to attend American Heritage and BoM 101 if you're at BYU. Eventually Real Madrid or Paris Oo-la-la is going to lure some of these guys back and they'll leave on the next flight and be playing there tomorrow. I wonder if the gaining teams will "buy out" the departing player's contract?
Seems certain that the transfer door will swing both ways.
