I was in the stadium for that game surrounded by Sooners fans. It felt like we were about to put the game away. As soon as the defender made the interception my brothers and I all collapsed to the bench while the Sooners fans all stood. I didn't watch the return — my head was buried in my hands — but I knew no one would stop him. I could tell when he crossed the goal line by the cheers of the Sooners fans around me.
Tonight felt eerily similar. The momentum was swinging our way. Maybe we could put a drive together and win the game. And then Retzlaff threw a soul-crushing interception on the screen play. Really glad the final outcome was different this time around.
