Hey Cougarboard,
I was wondering if anyone here had any insight on the admissions for BYU-Hawaii. I took a tour there a couple years back with the head of admissions and he said I was the ideal student that they want. My mom is Chinese and my dad went to high school in Laie. I attend a Chinese Ward and know Chinese.
BYU Hawaii has always been a dream for me. The location, the large population of Asian students, the small classes. It’s the perfect place.
My unweighted GPA is 3.96 and by graduation I will have taken 1 AP (score of 5) and 8 or 9 CE classes. I plan on graduating high school with roughly 40+ college credits.
My ACT score however is the bare minimum to apply (21). I don’t do well with testing. I was wondering if anyone here went to byu-Hawaii or knows how much they weigh ACT in decisions.
I also regularly attend Seminary which of course helps with admissions.
I’m writing this to see if I should really retake the ACT. My other schools don’t require it. I’m not sure if I can test any better either.
Thank you.
