BREAKING: Zariel Macchia (2025) of William Floyd HS (NY) has committed to BYU! Zariel is a 3x Footlocker Nationals qualifier (12th in 2021, 6th in 2022, & 10th in 2023) and 2x U20 World XC Championships qualifier (19th in 2023 & 29th in 2024) She most recently was the 2024 US U20 national champion in the 5000 & runner-up in the 1500 and will represent the US in both events at the U20 World Chamionships in Peru this August Zariel is BYU’s first women’s distance commit for class of 2025 Personal Bests: 1500: 4:16.23 3200: 10:06.47 5000: 16:13.04
