For picks 10 and 29/32 I only selected guys that were available in the mock. For the trade up section I didn't follow that rule.
Pick 10:
His pick - Tidjane Salaun
My top three:
1. Ron Holland - I'm less high on Holland than I was a month ago. Of all the poor shooting non-bigs, it sounds like his shooting might be the shakiest of the clear first round guys. He'd be my pick if the board fell as it did in Vecenie's mock, but I would still be nervous.
2. Tidjane Salaun - He's a 3/4 like Lauri and Hendricks so that isn't a perfect fit, but with where the Jazz (and this draft) are at I think an upside swing would make sense.
3. Nikola Topic - In theory he has the size to play next to Keyonte, which is a plus.
Guys I would consider trading 29 and 32 for if they fell to picks 20-24:
My top four:
1. Bub Carrington - Vecenie had him at 12, but I've seen him at 20ish in past mocks. Big guard that has a great pull-up jumper and is very young for a freshman. And he goes by Bub.
2. Kyshawn George - There's a world where he's an above average shooter, passer, and defender for his position (2/3). Good size.
3. Isaiah Collier - He was a top HS recruit and I wouldn't say his season at USC was disastrous. I don't like small guards that don't shoot, but at a certain point the upside is just too good.
4. Kyle Filipowski - I hate comparing him to another white guy, but he could bring a lot of what Kelly Olynyk did to the Jazz.
Picks 29 and 32:
His picks - Baylor Scheierman (29) and Cam Christie (32)
My top four:
1. Tyler Smith - He's a great shooter at 6'9. He isn't a good defender and isn't currently a center, but if he can figure those two things out he'd be a steal.
2. Pacome Dadiet - Good shooter off the dribble for his size. I've heard he might play another year in Europe, which could be a plus if the Jazz don't want to bring three more rookies.
3. Baylor Scheierman - Great shooter, passer, and rebounder for a 2/3. Another great white guy to white guy comparison: Joe Ingles
Bonus - My least favorite potential pick at a couple of the spots:
10 - Rob Dillingham: Keyonte George isn't tiny, but he's small enough that I'm not interested in spending real draft capital on any more short players.
20 (in a trade-up) - Pretty much anybody that I didn't mention earlier. I would rather just take two swings if you aren't getting one of those guys.
