Hired an employee to be a PT night cashier covering the 3-9 PM shift. Great hire as nobody likes a closing shift and she's good at what she does. She was previously at Albertsons but admitted she was laid off at the same time with some other people.
Turns out she is on medication for seizures. She hasn't had any episodes at work, but has had some at home and can't come into work about 25% of the time because of it. I now know why Albertsons laid her off....just too unpredictable with her health issues.
It's disruptive for my small business as we just don't have the slack with employees to cover down for her when she can't come in.
I can't ask about health as an employer. But she should've disclosed that as well.
