I admit that Tesla has good mechanical and safety reviews, but the cars still do not excite me. It's not a political statement nor an anti-EV statement.
It's an emotional reaction to how cars affect me.
When I sit inside a Tesla, and I haven't sat or ridden in a SuperTruck which looks like a child's pinewood derby car, I feel as if I am sitting inside of a computer, with no frills, no luxury, just a soulless computer, functional, fast and performing well, but no heart or soul. Teslas seem devoid of personality.
For those old enough to remember Ricardo Montalban, he narrated a car commercial, I forget which brand, but he had a line that resonates to this day, "replete with rich Corinthian leather,"
with his baritone, Castilian laced English accent rolling through his brief extolling of the car promoted.
Are there Tesla trims that create the feeling of luxury and opulence? Or Sporty exuberance?
Sit inside a MB, or any other German car, you feel tight engineering coupled with luxury. Side inside a Bentley and stately elegance. A Maserati conveys Italian opulent frivolity.
Sitting inside a Tesla feels like being with an Android or Data on Star Trek the Next Generation.
Rivians look more stylish, but the financial stability of the company concerns me. How are Lucids or Polestars? Any experiences with them?
