copy of a post I made in late February, 2020. I don't have all the roles thought through with this year's team and I will forever curse the COVID response for not letting us see what would have happened then. But here's the old post:
This team has people filling pretty much all the "Hollywood" roles that would
seem almost too scripted if this were a movie:
1. The energetic young coach breathing life back into a program that seemed to have hit a plateau.
2. The star that was going to leave the team and came back - Yoeli.
3. The rock that played a big role all four years and was always dependable - TJ.
4. The come back/overcome adversity guy - Toolson.
5. The quirky guy that completely reinvents himself for the good of the team - Seljaas. Bonus that the quirky guy has a signature look.
6. The guy that makes a significant personal sacrifice because he wants to be a part of the team - Baxter burning his redshirt year.
7. The guy that might seem to be an outsider, but right away fits in perfectly - Barcello.
8. The guy that works hard and doesn't get a chance and/or it doesn't click until this year - Nixon.
9. The guy that makes a surprisingly large contribution to the team when nobody outside the team expected anything - Lee.
10. The guy sort of quietly biding his time, because he isn't the star yet, but he gives valuable minutes - Harding.
11. A couple of likeable/Rudy guys making important and largely unsung contributions for four years - Evan Troy and Maughan.
12. The radio guy that has loved the team through thick and thin for a long time (like Bob Uecker) and his humorous sidekick - Wrubell and Mark Durrant.
