Nothing about the cause yet, but some details from the investigation so far:
- Some of the injuries happened after the crash where people were inverted and released their seat belts to drop out of their seats. Many struggled releasing their seat belt while inverted.
- The pilots were stuck in the cockpit - the cockpit door was jammed because the airframe was bent and a jump seat was also wedged against the door. The emergency exit hatch in the cockpit is on the roof, which was inaccessible because the plane was upside down. A passenger had to help pull them out after getting a slight opening in the door
- The passengers that exited the over-wing emergency exit were covered in jet fuel as they climbed out of the plane
- Other passengers were covered in flame retardant foam from the emergency responders
- A lavatory door was blocking the exit at the front of the plane and a passenger removed it to help increase the flow of the egress
- An off-duty flight attendant and pilot were among the passengers and they helped with the evacuation
- The first fire truck didn't arrive on scene until over 5 minutes after the crash.
