It seems like BYU has better seasons in years that follow a summer trip. Didn't the team go to Italy the summer before Pope's last year? Those trips really seem to help build team unity and serve as a positive springboard for the upcoming season.
What are the rules about those kinds of trip? How frequently can they do them and who is eligible to go? For example, if they were able to go on one this coming summer would Dybantsa be able to go?
Frankly, it seems like the biggest problem that BYU is facing this year is that KY and his staff have been trying since they were hired to catch up on everything due to the late timing of the Pope departure. I'm really confident that regardless of how this year ends up, next season will be MUCH better. The team and the coaching staff will have already gone through the toughest part of the learning curve, and will have definite plans in place to be better prepared and get much better results.
And a summer trip this year could really help, if it's allowable.
