It's tough to win on the road in college basketball and Texas Tech won in a tough environment. They hit shots when they needed to. One concern for BYU is the amount of 3pt makes they allow. Here are the opponents that had double digit 3pt makes against BYU: TTech, Houston, Florida A&M, Fresno St, Providence, Idaho, Queens, UCR. BYU's defense in conference games is allowing 1.13 pts/poss. That's not good. BYU is being outshot in conference games so far from 3pt land 35.2% to 29.1%.

Mag has been playing really well 3 out of the last 5 games. He's earning minutes. He's had a GameScore over 10 for those 3 games.

Right now the only player playing better during conference play compared to non-conference play (GameScore differential) is Saunders. BYU as a team is on average 19 GameScore points worse during conference play so far.

Last year the team started out 0-2 in conference. Then went on the road and beat UCF and then beat Iowa St at home after that. The Iowa St game last year at home was the best win the team had. And then the team lost the next 2 games and was 2-4. There's plenty of games this year to get back to 0.500 in conference play. Unfortunately they are still trying to figure things out. I wonder if the easy non-conf schedule didn't help with figuring some things out.
