We sat on the BYU side of the field in the lower bowl about the 30yrd line and were surrounded by fans with Colorado gear...or at least Colorado colors.
To our right was the BYU band which was surrounded by the die hard BYU fans...very loud and proud.
At the start of the game the Colorado fans around us were loud & rowdy...they were especially vocal when BYU had to punt on their first series. A couple of loud, bearded, beefy guys behind us were making sure that we heard them....clapping loudly right behind our heads.
When BYU's defense turned up and showed out on the first series....they were a little less loud....and then when BYU started to move the ball and make regular first downs.... they started to complain about the refs.
After BYU scored and recovered the onside kick they became very uneasy and quiet....when BYU returned the punt for a touchdown they just sat on their hands waiting for something good to happen. The way the second half started prompted a lot of beer sales....and a lot of Colorado fans finally left early in the fourth quarter.
The Colorado guy that I was sitting next to was a good guy....very reasonable but he eventually started swearing under his breath and left late in the 4th quarter.
As a BYU fan....the game experience was excellent. I can only hope that the ASU game next year turns out the same way.
