His little buddies. They have played in a 12 person league for several years and finally had someone drop out and invited my boy to join last minute…literally 6 hours before the start of the draft.
My boy has wanted to play for the past several years and was excited to do so this year. He ended up drafting 12th in a snake draft and I gave him some pointers on which positions to target in each round. The kids in the league are pretty sports savvy and know who the best players are, and I’m sure they too got input from their fathers as well.
It was a rough start, he went 0-2 for the first two weeks (Puka was out) and Metcalf was struggling as his top two WRs. He swapped Goff out for Burrow who was on his bench. He had to solid RBs in Gibbs and Cook. I told him to hit the wavier wire hard each week and pay attention to who gets injured or dinged up.
Over the following weeks he started stacking wins and moved up from dead last to middle of the pack. He dropped one more to the kid who was in 1st place at the time, but has since reeled off some pretty close wins.
He was in first place for a couple weeks prior to the playoffs and has successfully worked his way with some luck and fortuitous matchups into the championship game.
It’s him and the kid who was in 2nd place heading into the playoffs. It’s fun watching my son’s excitement. Hopefully he can hold onto the win this week. It will be a tough matchup but but he is currently projected to win 120 to 107 but those projections are rarely accurate.
Out of the WR on his roster, who would you start at the two WR positions and the Flex:
Puka - He’ll start no matter what
D.Metcalf
D.Mooney
J.Downs
D.Hopkins
R.Doubs
A.Abdullah - he’s an RB but catches the ball and could be a flex
