I have heard some hearsay stories (that I sort of trust) about how Utah donors were pretty mad that millions were given to Cam Rising who sat on the bench all season.
So a couple of my theories:
First, I Wouldn’t be surprised at NIL donors tightening the belt after their “investment” fell through. Major Utah NIL bet huge on Rising and they lost.
Second, if you are a player for Utah and Cam is laughing on the sideline with millions of dollars, why stay when others schools are more than willing line up their NIL donors to get you to play?
Utah shot themselves in the foot by putting all their eggs in the Cam Rising basket and is paying the price hard.
