USB-A plugs are functionally awful
Whoever designed a plug that looks almost identical in both sides but can functionally only be plugged in one way needs to be mocked. It seems like the probability of getting it right on the first try is well under 50%.

Have you used the plugs it replaced? Serial, SCSI, and parallel were terrible.
