My family and I are planning a trip to Hawaii this January, and we’re leaning toward the Big Island (though we haven’t booked yet). I’d love your advice on the best areas to stay and must-do activities!
Our kids are 15, 12, 11, and 7. We’ve been to Oahu before and absolutely loved the North Shore. Their favorite activities were snorkeling, zip-lining, shark diving, and surf lessons. We’ve also done trips to Cancun and Costa Rica, and similar adventures were their highlights there too.
For this trip, we definitely want to do the Manta Ray swim and see an active volcano. Waterfalls sound fun, and we’re hoping to find some good spots for snorkeling, boogie boarding, and maybe even beginner surf lessons.
Any suggestions for where to stay on the island? Should we rent a car? And are there any other activities or must-see spots you’d recommend for a family with adventurous kids?
Thanks all!
