RUECKERT FACES A STACKED NOTRE DAME SQUAD
We stuck around late to watch top-ranked junior recruit Tyran Stokes of Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame take the floor. Facing Timpview (Utah) High, we expected Stokes to set the tone to start but opposing headliner Dean Rueckert had other plans in mind.
A 6-foot-6 wing who is ranked No. 44 in the national 2026 class, Rueckert was the best player on the floor in the first half going for 17 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the field and a perfect 3-for-3 shooting from long range. His production was not as loud in the second half but he still finished with 31 points going 6-of-9 on long attempts with a few being well-contested.
Playing off the ball, Rueckert's three-point shooting and strong takes to the rim put Notre Dame in uncomfortable situations early. In what was an intense matchup, he was not fazed by anything and was only focused on keeping the game competitive.
