I'm struggling to think of a reason why this isn't a bigger story
A cheer coach, attempting to leave the field, gets knocked out cold from an object thrown from the stands by a fan of the rivalry school. Of all the incidents that have received lots of local and national attention over the years, a woman being knocked unconscious by an opposing fan seems like it would be up there.

To the extent that it received national coverage, it was barely a mention.

The local coverage has been minimal.

The university who hosted the event has never even mentioned it, much less apologized for the incident. This is the one that's really astounding. Not one single mention that the behavior was unacceptable and they implore all their fans to do better in the future. That's just common decency. But instead...crickets.

No matter your thoughts on the severity of what the offending fan did and what punishment it deserves, the fact that the University of Utah has not apologized for the incident is mind blowing.
