just plug in the router, connect it to the wifi or other internet source, and since the whole family has their devices configured for the travel router, they are instantly online too. Nobody else has to fuss with the connection or password or enabling through a captive portal- it’s all just done once. And we had one place where they told us we would need to re-authenticate every 4 hours, but the travel router kept the connection alive for us so we didn’t need to.
