Stayed in a couple places. We liked being in the latin quarter and there are a number of mid-range

Hotel Elysees Flaubert. It's smaller but great location and staff on a budget.

Buy a 3 day pass for the Hop on-Hop off bus tour. Great way to get around the city at a reasonable cost. The tour
