YOHONOMOTO Intervention Needed
I don’t like confrontation, which leads me to do things that are not ideal.
I don’t say no enough, so I take on too much.

I don’t push back enough on bad ideas. I don’t squash bad ideas quickly. I usually let them play out and watch the person slowly figure out that the idea was bad. It would probably save time and headache if I told people in the beginning that the idea is bad. I find it exhausting explaining to people why an idea is bad.

I have a really hard time with visionaries who have ideas but lack practicality or the ability to execute the ideas themselves.

I don’t want to sound rude so I tend to communicate in a roundabout way, drop hints, etc. Some personality types pick up on that and gel well with me but some are oblivious.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, but when people betray my trust I think I get more upset than people who go through life assuming everybody is trying to screw them.

I wait to address problems until the consequences are less avoidable, or until my annoyance level is higher. So when I finally let the confrontation happen, I have a hard time gauging if I’m being rude/mean or if I’m being reasonable. It doesn’t help that some people seem to need to be talked to bluntly for anything to penetrate their thick skulls, while others are more sensitive and responsive. Sometimes I feel bad after a confrontation when I probably shouldn’t feel bad.

I can’t be alone in this personality trait? Anybody else feel this? And learned how to improve?
