I took my nephew, who has muscular dystrophy and uses a power wheelchair, to the game. We had to struggle with the poor accessibility of the stadium and Utah in general on our way to the stadium and to our seats. We finally found the entrance near the one ramp for wheelchairs (SE corner). The weather was rough, especially for someone who doesn't move his body very much. It was looking pretty miserable for him.
We made our way to the Cougar Walk and squeezed to the inside. We saw the band and the team walk by. He was thrilled. I turned around briefly after almost all the team had passed, and when I turned back Kalani was lunging toward my nephew and gave him a huge hug with a kiss on the cheek. It made our day. The dude had to have been looking for a kid in a wheelchair, because we were in the middle of tons of fans.
Love that guy!
