so much better if he'd held out for a better opportunity. Either he's not been as happy at BYU as we thought, or he's motivated to stay in Utah and didn't feel he didn't have a shot at the Utah or BYU job anytime soon.

It just doesn't seem logical he'd want to go there and fight the inherent challenges in Logan. Something is at play here that we aren't aware of imo.
