1. At the 2:21 mark Egor makes a 3 to give us a 75-71 lead. They come down, miss a few FTs and we have the ball with 1:30 left and a 4 point lead. Demin throws a careless pass that is intercepted and taken down the court where there was a missed traveling call instead a foul where he made Murrell made both FTs
2. With 9 seconds left Hall tries to get the ball to Demin on the wing and he either slips and falls or just got muscled out of his position and fell. Because he can’t get the ball we go to Fouss too high in the post who fumbles the ball and should have passed to a wide open Knell but throws up a prayer instead that goes unanswered.
There were obviously many plays that could be fixed but these two in my mind cost us the game and both were direct results of Egor not being strong enough or aggressive enough.
There is no bigger Egor Demin fan out there than me. My kids worship him, I’m rooting for him and want him to succeed. This game is early in the season so hopefully he will learn that he can’t have a careless turnover at the end of tight games and he needs to be more physical at the end because we need the ball in his hands when the game is going to be decided. He’s young but if he’s going to be all that he’s cracked to to be he needs to finish these games!
