Dybantsa report from PG Hoopfest
Just finished watching him the past two days. Utah Prep beat a top 50 Link Academy team last night and dropped a close game this afternoon to Mt. Zion out of Maryland.

The Good: As you'd expect, unreal athleticism and measurables, on a court full of D1 commits he stands out and commands attention. His skillset is obviously elite but raw and developing. Seems like a mature, selfless, coachable player. Has swagger, but very little attitude or arrogance.

The Bad: Had a harder time getting to his spots than I thought he would, struggled to create for himself, like all young players-shooting needs to improve. Needs to get stronger, got pushed around by some bigger guys.

I really want him at BYU, but after seeing him in person my expectations for the impact he would have on wins and losses are tempered a bit. Anyone expecting him to dominate next year in the Big 12 will be disappointed. He'd start and contribute, but he's 3-5 years of development out from putting a team on his back.

Biggest impact of him choosing BYU would be the perception of our school as an emerging blueblood paving the way for more top recruits to consider us a legitimate option.

Misc. thoughts: after watching him in person, not terribly broken up we didn't get JJ- but definitely hope we get Felesi in the class of '26. That kid tries to dunk over everyone and would be one of the more exciting players to play for BYU.

Last thought: Hoopfest is incredible. If you live within an hour of Pleasant Grove it's worth making it an annual tradition. Cooper Flagg last year, AJ this year. The best player I saw this week was a kid committed to UCONN out of LaLumiere. Just unreal levels of talent playing in our backyard.
