Based on Utah's (questionable) prominence from its recent PAC12 success, the CFB world was ready for them to slide into top dog status in the B12. Utah might have been able to get up near the top of the rankings.

If Utah had run the conference like they promised, folks may have looked at the B12 as having a top program.
