I have watched much more football this year compared to prior years. The success of the team definitely has a lot to do with that, especially with the opportunities still available to the Cougs.
During commercials of the game vs. ASU, I was flipping back to the Kansas vs. Colorado game on multi-view (thanks, YouTube TV!). After we lost, I watched the entire Iowa St vs. Utah game, cheering for the Utes. During that game, if my kids said "that's a good play for our defense/offense/special teams" I would remind them this was not "our" team. They would quickly correct what they said.
I have stayed away from the general Big 12 podcasts this week but watched the BYU weekly press conference and coordinators' corner. I love that Jay Hill said they wanted another shot at ASU, just like Chase said after the game Saturday.
I then watched the K-State press conference and interviews with some K-State players who confirmed they have had this game circled on the schedule since last year.
I know the weather forecast for Ames, Arizona will be wearing all red jerseys for the Territorial Cup, and lots of other details for games not including BYU.
On Saturday, I will start early with Colorado vs. OK State, flip over to see if Arizona can pull the upset, and then cheer on K-State against the Cyclones. Hopefully on the drive to LES that night K-State is up big and then I can cheer on the Cougs with 60,000+ of my fellow Cougar fans to beat Houston and clinch a spot in the Big 12 Championship!
Looking forward to celebrating together on Saturday night!
Go Cougs!
