He’s a good player who definitely has a valuable role on any D1 program.
But the contrast between his athleticism and our other 3s and 4s is astronomical. He is probably our best pure shooter, but that really is his limitation. He’s also a streak shooter, it seems, which can be really frustrating: “so are we gonna get 70% Knell today, or 10% Knell today?” When he’s on fire, there’s almost no stopping him; and when he’s not, it doesn’t matter how wide open he’s left. And because he’s no threat to slash or drive or post up, he’s a huge liability when he’s not hitting his 3s.
I will be really interested to see what KY does with Knell, but I suspect his minutes will slowly decline throughout the season.
