1. There should have been measures in place to not allow anyone to rush the field until the refs called the game over. Besides the fact that the game still had more, this was a very unsafe situation for players, refs, and coaches.
2. No flags on any one of the myriad of penalties at the end is bad.
3. As someone pointed out below, don’t know if can totally blame the refs. If they throw a flag with thousands of crazy drunk fans on the field, who knows what would have happened.
4. Not flagging Dillingham for his childlike behavior just encourages this. He should at least get fined.
5. Not completely clearing the field made it harder for BYU to run its final play and again created a safety issue after the play.
