were better than others, and a few were big homers, but mostly high-quality analysis. Came to respect Brock Huard a lot from his radio days. This was the 2006-2011 period. I wasn't a big fan of any local team besides the Seahawks and still listened all of the time on my commute.
I moved to Charleston, SC, a college sports market, and it is just horrible here. Tried listening for a few weeks and then just abandoned sports radio completely. The rank homerism, the implicit assumption that everyone listening have been doing so for decades... just a really unsatisfying experience.
No real point except that I was struck by how stark the quality difference was from market to market.
