Kansas was not a good loss for the committee, but it was a good loss for us
Saying there is such a thing…

BYU had met all our goals and far exceeded them. Undefeated, ranked in the top 10 and they just beat their rival. The conference championship still in front of them.

This Kansas game, well we absolutely lost it, gave it away, and it’s easy to point at about 3 plays that could have led to a win…down to the second to last play on that illegal shift.

That terrible interception to close the half, the 1-1000 quick kick that grazes the helmet of the receiving team “us” and then one of our best hands guys on D dives on it and squirts it toward the end-zone. And finally the shift/false start at the end where we had the matchup of Chase Robert’s on their safety…we ran the play anyways and were two yards short….you have to think we get a first down and extend that drive.

Why is it a good loss? Well all those things are catastrophes and we still had a chance to win in the final seconds, and a loss really doesn’t change the possible goals that lie a head. The pressures of a perfect season were clearly getting to us, and now we get to go back to being the underdog with all of our hopes and dreams still squarely in our grasp.

A win on Saturday basically clenches a title shot, and that game wins going to be tough no matter what. A playoff berth is still in the cards and there are no more press clippings left to over inflate our ego.

I think the Arizona State game may as well be a conference title game and the start of our “playoff run”

I do have a kidney stone….and it may be the medications talking…but i like where we are.

**Not to mention the Paul Finebaum’s of the world already giving us “Bo-diddly tech” type fodder to add to the legend.
