We saved Utah HS marching band. Well, in the process
I got in touch with the bill's sponsor and then copied the local HS band director. The sponsor was saying band is on the decline in Utah (not the case here in Eagle Mountain or Saratoga). Director made the case for electives, including marching band, to be exceptions to the bill that bans fees for graded classes.

Session at the capitol today and they punted this topic so the sponsor could make more changes and they flat out said marching band isn't going anywhere while addressing the people in the room that were there for that bill.

I'm taking liberties in how much we did, but I'll give all the credit to our band director. The sponsor said he was already in the process of making changes, but we had our whole community hammer his inbox to the point of where he felt the need to carve out additional changes from the amendment he was already introducing.
