Had a high school classmate, a dumb jock, that ended up playing football for what is now an FCS school. He was a nice guy, kind of funny. But never seemed that smart.

During football practice as a freshman the coach noticed that he couldn't see. So he took him to the eye doctor. Well, his vision was bad. So he got glasses. Coach got him a tutor to help him catch up on his studies. Well, he ended up graduating with honors with an engineering degree and has been highly successful in his career. Just moved back to take care of his parents.

Just thought it was a cool story to share.
